A musical statement from the North. Four uniquely different groups from three countries in Scandinavia on Tour in North America. Arctic Flights features several of Scandinavia's foremost musical groups in a mix of powerful and poetic cross-over music built on the rich folk-music traditions of Norway, Sweden and Finland. These groups offer a diverse range of musical styles, making for a concert-evening filled with new music – all with deep roots.

Lepistö&Lehti offer compellingly graceful bass and accordion tunes from the Finnish woods, Karl Seglem growling goat-horn tunes from the Norwegian mountains, Bazar Blå dance grooves from the Swedish lakes, and Unni Løvlid powerful singing from the deep Norwegian valleys.

Lepistö&Lehti is an acclaimed duo bringing together the unquestionable talent of accordionist Markku Lepistö and bassist Pekka Lehti – two musicians evolving from the common history they started as members of the well-known Finnish ensemble Värttinä. The duo is at the forefront of contemporary acoustic music with a distinct Nordic influence and a strong sense of musical dialogue.

Bazar Blå is one of the leading bands on the new folk music scene in Sweden. Their original compositions are clearly influenced by Swedish traditions and heritage, but always having a modern touch of rhythms and soundscapes. Coming from different musical backgrounds, each member brings their individual experiences to the band. This specific blend of personalities, repertoire and fantastic musicianship is what gives their music its unmistakable character. A distinctly new folk music which the trio calls “Transglobal Tripfolk”.
