Jayme Stone
Jayme Stone is a rarity!
Steeped in the many branches of roots music, his banjo playing draws on a much wider palette of sound, emotion and influence. Jayme has established himself playing with the likes of Matt Flinner, Darol Anger (bluegrass), Michael Occhipinti (jazz), Justin Rutledge (folk), Mama Sissoko and Toumani Diabate (African music).
The Jayme Stone Quartet, and their latest record The Utmost, combines folk-like melodies and song structures with adventuresome harmonic writing and thoroughly intelligent arrangements. His music has garnered much press in both bluegrass and jazz circles.
"Stone is the consummate team player... always right in the middle with his polished, inventive banjo playing."
